The preparation for the first meeting of the VII All-Belarusian People's Congress was discussed at a meeting with Lukashenko
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting on April 18 to discuss the preparations for the first session of the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly, a BELTA correspondent reports.
There is literally a week left until the first session of the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly, and the preparation for this event has entered its final stage.
"As we agreed, we will once again discuss the organizational issues that need to be addressed to ensure the effective work of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly," Alexander Lukashenko noted.
"An organizing committee has been established. As I am constantly informed, they have met, worked, and developed the main documents. However, there are a number of issues concerning the standing Presidium, deputy chairpersons (it would be necessary to consult on how we will propose to the All-Belarusian People's Assembly to form them). In short, a normal, manageable working process of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly must be ensured, from decorating the city (without any excess, so that we don't spend extra money on nothing) to the meeting hall," the President emphasized. The head of state separately dwelled on the organizational aspects related to providing the delegates of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly with everything necessary. "I want to ask again for the most attentive attitude towards the delegates of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, from providing them with food and accommodation to providing them with the necessary materials for work. What has been done in this regard? What still needs to be done?" Alexander Lukashenko asked.
As Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko reported, the organizing committee for the preparation of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly has worked closely, and all instructions given by the head of state in connection with this large-scale event are being fulfilled exhaustively and timely by officials.
"Currently, the composition of the participants of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly is fully formed. Issues of their transportation, accommodation, catering, and security have been worked out in detail," said Roman Golovchenko. "A total of 1162 delegates are currently registered, including 412 ex officio members and 750 elected members, including 402 men and 348 women."
350 people have been delegated from local councils of deputies to participate in the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, and 400 from civil society. "All delegate election procedures have been carried out in full compliance with the law," the Prime Minister emphasized.
Regarding invited guests who are not delegates but are participating in the VNS, there are 715 such individuals. This number includes 68 distinguished representatives of Belarusian society and seven regional delegations, each comprising 68 people. These delegations include representatives from regional media, healthcare, education, security agencies, enterprises, as well as former regional leaders and honorary citizens of administrative-territorial units. The VNS is scheduled to be attended by 31 foreign nationals. These individuals are representatives of interstate integration associations and foreign diplomats.
