Lukashenko is again in the Moscow Kremlin on Cosmonautics Day

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has arrived at the Moscow Kremlin for a joint event with President of Russia Vladimir Putin on the occasion of Cosmonautics Day, a BELTA correspondent reports.

The heads of state will summarize the results of the recent mission to the ISS, where a crew of the Union State worked for the first time in history. The presidents will communicate with the cosmonauts and discuss further prospects for cooperation in the space sector.

As reported by BELTA, the first cosmonaut of sovereign Belarus, Hero of Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya, arrived in Moscow from Minsk the day before on the presidential aircraft. A ceremonial event honoring and awarding Belarusian cosmonauts and organizers of the ISS expedition was held at the Palace of Independence on April 11.

Another participant of the flight, Russian cosmonaut and native of Belarus Oleg Novitsky, will also attend the meeting in the Kremlin.

Earlier, it was also reported that President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded the Order of Gagarin to the first cosmonaut of sovereign Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya and Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Sergey Prokopyev. The corresponding decrees have been published on the Russian official portal of legal information.

The previous evening, negotiations between Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin took place in the Kremlin. The heads of state spent four hours discussing issues of bilateral cooperation, responding to emerging challenges and threats in the security sphere, the situation in the region, and the international agenda.
