Lukashenko: we are proud of the defenders of the Fatherland of all generations who have honorably fulfilled their military duty
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated his compatriots, soldiers and veterans of the Armed Forces on Defender of the Fatherland and Armed Forces Day. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"This holiday is inextricably linked with the struggle of Belarusians for sovereignty and independence, for the right to live freely on their native land," the congratulatory message reads. "The best qualities of our people - courage, resilience, and heroism - were most vividly manifested during the Great Patriotic War, when both young and old rose to defend the great Motherland. We carefully cherish the memory of this feat, and in the year of the 80th anniversary of liberation from the Nazi invaders, we express special words of gratitude to our dear veterans."
The Head of State emphasized that Belarus is proud of the defenders of the Fatherland of all generations, who have always honorably fulfilled their military duty. "This was the case in distant Afghanistan, and in other hot spots of the planet," the President noted.
Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that the Armed Forces have everything necessary to repel any aggressor, to defend peace and harmony on Belarusian soil, and that the territorial defense and people's militia system created in the country gives
