From the South Pole to the North Pole. Lukashenko spoke about serious joint work with Putin

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the intensive joint work carried out with President of Russia Vladimir Putin in recent days. He made this statement at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"We have indeed worked very seriously these past two days. One could say from the South Pole to the North Pole. We discussed the problems of Antarctica as well – more comfortable conditions are being created for Russians to work there, a wintering complex has been established. But the most important thing is that no one is dividing anything there. Belarusians are working together with Russians. Our station is nearby. And all kinds of assistance – both scientific and everyday – are provided to the Belarusian specialists stationed there," the head of state noted.

Alexander Lukashenko continued: "Then, Vladimir Vladimirovich and I moved from south to north. We analyzed the events happening in the world. Take our aspiration – Russia and Belarus, the People's Republic of China… Russia is at the forefront of this because it bears the greatest burden. And it suffers more than anyone."

The President emphasized that the advent of a multipolar world and the unwillingness of the current monopolist to relinquish its positions lead to conflicts in various parts of the world. "The Houthis, the Middle East, the South China Sea, problems with Taiwan – all this is because a multipolar world is coming. As the Russian Foreign Minister said, the monopolist does not want this. So they try to maintain a unipolar world through various methods. It has come to armed conflicts," Alexander Lukashenko stated.

According to him, the negotiations with Vladimir Putin also covered issues of economic cooperation, including with countries in Asia and Africa: "We also discussed work on the Asian continent, especially in Africa, where we are invited. They truly await us there. Primarily the Russian Federation with its immense capabilities."

Alexander Lukashenko also noted the work on developing cargo transportation along the Northern Sea Route. "We would very much like this program to be implemented faster. It would be easier for us to work," he stressed.

"As you can see, it's a whole complex of issues – from south to north," the President summarized.
