Lukashenko signed amendments to the law on state awards
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the Law on Amendments to the Law "On State Awards of the Republic of Belarus". BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The document, in particular, implements the powers of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly regarding the awarding of state awards to the President of Belarus, as well as the initiation of awards for other persons.
In order to enhance the significance of awarding the Order of Motherhood, additional conditions for granting this award are established. Thus, women who are citizens of the Republic of Belarus, who have given birth to and (or) properly raised five or more children - citizens of the Republic of Belarus, possessing high moral qualities and responsibility in raising and maintaining children, caring for their health, development, education, preparation for socially useful work, instilling in them culture and respect for the laws, historical and national traditions of Belarus, can be awarded the Order of Motherhood.
To enhance the authority of the activities of media representatives, the law establishes a new state award - the honorary title "Honored Worker of the Mass Media of the Republic of Belarus".
