Belarus and the African Union have agreed to develop a plan and priorities for cooperation. This issue was discussed at a meeting between the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Belarus to Kenya, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the African Union Pavel Vzyatkin and Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat, BelTA was informed by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting took place at the organization's headquarters in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. The Belarusian diplomat spoke about the republic's commitment to the consistent development of relations with the countries of the African continent on the principles of mutual respect and trust, and the building of mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

"In the context of discussing promising areas of interaction between Belarus and African countries, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission highly appreciated the potential for cooperation in the field of agriculture, taking into account the quality of equipment and the competencies of the Belarusian side in the agrarian sector," the press service of the foreign policy department said.

The parties agreed to conduct joint work with the relevant departments of the Commission to structure interaction and develop a plan and priorities for further cooperation.
