All major agreements in cooperation with China must be translated into concrete projects. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at Peking University during a meeting with the Secretary of the university's Party Committee, Chairman of the Pedagogical Council, and Deputy Chairman of the Commission for International Affairs of the All-China People's Congress Hao Ping, according to BELTA.

"The Chairman (of the PRC. - BELTA's note) and I are old friends. Because we assess the global situation similarly and have the same outlook on world prospects. Following our meeting, negotiations continue in the government at the level of vice-premiers. All our grand intentions and agreements must be grounded, translated into concrete projects. On the instructions of Xi Jinping and my own, the vice-premiers are precisely engaged in this," said the Belarusian leader.

He also stated the need to strengthen communication between the peoples of the two countries: "Today, the Chairman of the PRC placed a special emphasis on this. Strengthening communication between youth groups, and young people in general. Because the future belongs to them."

According to Alexander Lukashenko, the meeting with Xi Jinping also discussed issues of student exchange. "We need to strengthen, intensify this exchange. We need to expand cooperation, not limit ourselves only to biotechnology. We need to cooperate in the fields of chemistry, physics, mathematics... There is interest from China in establishing cooperation," the President noted.

Hao Ping said that in 2015, during the state visit of the Chairman of the PRC to Belarus, he was also part of the delegation in his capacity as Deputy Minister of Education and personally experienced the hospitality and friendship of the residents of Minsk.

Peking University is a key higher education institution in China. Along with Tsinghua University, it is considered the most prestigious university in the country. The university enrolls over 46,000 students, of whom approximately 3,300 are international students.

The university structure includes 55 directly affiliated institutes, over 120 research laboratories are in operation, and the university library is considered one of the largest in Asia.

In September 2016, Alexander Lukashenko addressed the students of Peking University.

In June 2019, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Peking University and Belarusian State University. In May 2022, an agreement was signed with BSU on the creation of a joint educational program in the specialty "biotechnology".
