Lukashenko approved the draft agreement with China on trade in services and investment

Head of State Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 356, approving as a basis for negotiations the draft agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the People's Republic of China on trade in services and investment.

BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the President. This establishes a legal framework for the sustainable and dynamic development of trade and investment relations between the two countries. It concerns the creation of a free trade area for services between Belarus and the PRC, a transparent, liberal, and favorable investment regime for attracting investments.

The agreement lays the groundwork for developing cooperation in new areas while respecting (protecting) the interests of both parties in the most sensitive segments of their economies.

The Ministry of Economy is authorized to conduct negotiations and sign the agreement upon reaching an understanding within the scope of the approved draft.

It is expected that in the future, cooperation under the agreement will allow for a dynamic increase in the export of Belarusian services to China and an increase in investment flows from China.
