Lukashenko demanded a most serious analysis of the NAS's work

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko demanded a most serious analysis of the work of the National Academy of Sciences.

The head of state announced this at a meeting on improving the system of planning and controlling the implementation of strategic projects, a BELTA correspondent reports.

The head of state noted that over thirty years, a whole network of research institutes in various fields has been formed in Belarus, and the State Committee on Science and Technology and the National Academy of Sciences are operating. However, regarding the NAS, the President instructed a comprehensive review of its work: "In winter, the Academy of Sciences must undergo the most serious analysis. God grant that it is as the head of the Academy of Sciences reports to us: today they are doing everything - from drones to products made from dry milk, which they sell to China. They are doing everything. Let's see if this is true. I mean electric vehicles and so on."

Continuing the discussion on the activities of Belarusian scientists, Alexander Lukashenko noted that their research, analytical work, and forecasts of scientific and technological progress for decades ahead are, of course, necessary. "But we must admit that the real sector of the economy, for some reason, does not strive to widely use the works of scientists," the President pointed out. "Not all new developments reach production." According to him, not so many truly large, breakthrough projects have been created during this time.
