President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with General Director of JSC "Russian Export Center" Veronika Nikishina, a BELTA correspondent reports.

The Head of State highly appreciated the role of the export center, which implements one of the most important areas in modern life, which is important for any state in the world.

"Lately, you have been observing the situation in the relations between Belarus and Russia. Your powerful group of companies is precisely at the crossroads of all these relations, possessing resources and certain reserves. Both administrative and financial resources to support relations between Belarus and Russia," Alexander Lukashenko noted.

"Therefore, it was very important for me to meet with you, to discuss issues. Perhaps you will suggest something. Not perhaps, but definitely. You have experience in this regard. Well, and so that our chief economist in the country hears our conversations (First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov was also present at the meeting. - BELTA note) and makes many efforts to support the areas of our cooperation," the Belarusian leader emphasized.

Alexander Lukashenko also noted Veronika Nikishina's work in her previous position at the Eurasian Economic Commission, where she was a member of the Board (Minister) for Trade.

"We had such a momentary meeting. I remember it. When the elections were held, they were being determined for our Eurasian Commission. A lot of time has passed since then. You are now in a new capacity, in a new position," he said.

"Well, and naturally, to our Belousov (First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Andrey Belousov, who is the husband of Veronika Nikishina. - BELTA note) - the warmest wishes, greetings. We often recall him in conversations. He is a notable person. Therefore, I ask you to convey the warmest wishes to him. I have a very good attitude towards him. You know this. Thank you for coming," the Belarusian leader concluded.

In turn, Veronika Nikishina thanked for the opportunity to meet. "I represent the group of companies of the Russian Export Center. These are four organizations united within a single holding. Two organizations provide financial support measures. Two provide non-financial ones. And, of course, given the strategic importance of trade and economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and Belarus, Belarus is a key country for us, where we implement our entire arsenal of financial and non-financial measures in the interests of Russian and Belarusian companies. Ultimately, in the interests of our economies," she stated.
