Lukashenko on information policy: our tactic is to reach every person

The Belarusian state is not a victor, but it is not losing on the informational front either. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko, according to BELTA.

During the interview, Diana Panchenko noted that today Ukrainians blame Russians for all their troubles. In her opinion, Ukraine was being made a "country of hatred" long before the events of 2022.

"And this was done consciously. It was state policy. How can we prevent something similar from happening to Belarusians?" she asked the head of state.

The President believes that it is necessary to engage as much as possible in the struggle on the informational front.

"As much as possible, as much as we have the strength, we are resisting on this battlefield. And you know, I wouldn't say we are victors, but we are not losing yet, because, perhaps, the truth always prevails. And if you speak falsehoods, then you will not win," said Alexander Lukashenko.

"If you analyze everything that has happened between our peoples, between our countries in recent years, then this is what happened: everything was done consciously and methodically to ensure that Ukrainians learned less and less about Belarusians, Ukrainians about Russians, and vice versa. It would seem that people who once lived in the same country know absolutely nothing about each other today. For example, very many Ukrainians are convinced that every Russian, upon waking up, thinks about how to kill as many Ukrainians as possible. Don't you think that today the exact same process is happening in relation to Russia and Belarus on the one hand, and Europe on the other? Aren't we being systematically prepared for some big and terrible processes?" the journalist clarified.

The President did not rule out that this is possible: "If you conquer other people's minds, then you will win any war in the future. Therefore, they may be preparing us for this through our minds. But power is power for a reason, to counteract, no matter how difficult it may be, no matter how unequal the forces are. But it is better to fight this way than to silence each other with missiles."

"It is difficult on this information field, but we must fight. Otherwise, you will fight the way Russia is fighting Ukraine. Therefore, we are trying, resisting, doing everything possible," the head of state added. "The tactic is to reach every person, to get through to them, to meet with them, so that they see you, talk to them. This is the most important direction of our work. People will appreciate it. I, too, try to meet, talk, and explain."
