President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated pilot-cosmonaut Svetlana Savitskaya on her anniversary. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"By becoming the first woman to perform a spacewalk, you have made an invaluable contribution to humanity's exploration of the universe," the head of state noted. "Your high personal and extraordinary professional qualities have allowed you to reach the pinnacle of aviation sports, become a world record holder in space exploration, and achieve success in scientific and pedagogical activities."

Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that Svetlana Savitskaya's active work in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, aimed at strengthening friendship and good neighborliness between our peoples, deserves special gratitude.

The President of Belarus wished Svetlana Savitskaya health, happiness, well-being, and success in all her endeavors and undertakings.
