Лукашенко: медицина - важная составляющая безопасности государства

Lukashenko: medicine is an important component of state security

Medicine is an important component of state security. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on topical healthcare issues, a BELTA correspondent reports.

Alexander Lukashenko recalled that he announced the current meeting during his Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly in order to consider in detail the most pressing problems of domestic healthcare and make the necessary decisions. "For this purpose, professionals have been specially invited to this hall in such a broad composition - from practicing doctors and even not to the Minister of Health, but to top officials," he noted.

"Medicine, as is known, is not only patient treatment, but also an important component of the security of any state, especially ours. Without a healthy nation, there will be no economy. In any state, the economy is the foundation. Without discipline, without readiness to respond correctly to modern challenges, there will be no real sovereignty and independence," the Belarusian leader emphasized.

Alexander Lukashenko stated that the domestic healthcare system has proven its worth and has been well-tempered during the pandemic. "Compared to other states, we have passed this test more than worthily. In practice, we have confirmed the viability of our healthcare system. In your person, I want to once again thank all medical workers for their difficult work and once again remind you of what I said during the pandemic: I thank you not for working (you get paid for it - big or small, but it's your choice), but for finding methods of treating this virus quickly in a very difficult situation, especially psychological pressure," the President said.
