Lukashenko sets the task of repairing all local roads within a year
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed criticism regarding the repair and maintenance of local roads during a meeting on the development of the Grodno region, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
Problems related to the repair and maintenance of local roads remain relevant. "Although the governor reported on the way that a lot has been done. But what is the situation on the ground: an agro-town - a district center? How are these roads? I recently had the honor to drive on some roads from agro-towns to the district center. They knew I would be coming, so they at least filled in the potholes. But in general, the situation is not encouraging. This concerns citizens," the head of state noted.
The task has been set to rectify the situation as soon as possible. And this applies not only and not so much to the Grodno region, but to the country as a whole. "It's more or less okay here in Grodno. But the situation across the country is difficult. Recently, the relevant Deputy Prime Minister was tasked with repairing all roads within this year, whatever it takes. And, believe me, it will cost more tomorrow. Today, oil, petroleum products, the same bitumen for asphalt are cheaper than ever," the head of state said.
