Lukashenko: we need to give a new impetus to the IT sector, and this concerns everyone, not just the Hi-Tech Park

The IT sector needs a new impetus for development, and not only for the High-Tech Park (HTP) residents. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on draft decrees for the development of the High-Tech Park, according to a BELTA correspondent.

"In November last year, we already discussed the work of our High-Tech Park, taking into account the current situation around Belarus. It is necessary to give a new impetus to the development of the industry, to ensure the most favorable working conditions (we agreed on this). And not only for HTP residents, but for all domestic IT companies, for all IT specialists in general," the head of state emphasized.

The President set a task: to create products for the needs of the national economy and for export. "This is a serious task. But in recent years, we haven't had any easy tasks," noted Alexander Lukashenko.

"Currently, our HTP, which for a long time was called the "programmer's paradise" and the "Silicon Valley of Eastern Europe" by reputable specialized publications, is being economically strangled. Such attempts are being made," noted Alexander Lukashenko.

In this regard, the President announced the country's readiness to react to the situation, draw conclusions and generate appropriate solutions: "We are used to accepting such challenges and responding to them with dignity. If they don't want to see us in one part of the planet, we naturally go to another part."
