Under control – the serviceability of children's playgrounds and sports grounds

The Prosecutor's Office of Verkhnedvinsk District, during the summer holidays, checked the enforcement of legislation on the protection of children's life and health regarding the operation of children's playgrounds and sports grounds.

 

The inspection primarily covered children's playgrounds, places of mass recreation for minors, courtyard areas of apartment buildings in Verkhnedvinsk, and potentially dangerous objects.

During the monitoring, instances were identified where playground
and sports equipment at children's playgrounds was in improper condition, which hindered its use.

For example, an examination of the condition of children's playground equipment at a playground located in the city park revealed that one of the supporting logs had a crack, making the use of the said complex unsafe. The wooden seats of the children's carousels at this playground were damaged.

During the inspection, the district prosecutor also selectively visited and inspected objects included in the list of potentially dangerous objects. Violations of safe maintenance rules were identified.

Based on the results of the inspection, the Prosecutor of Verkhnedvinsk District submitted a representation to the Chairman of the Verkhnedvinsk District Executive Committee,
demanding that measures be taken to eliminate the identified violations.

During the summer holidays, these issues remain a priority and are under constant control of responsible officials.
