The Vitebsk Regional Directorate of the Social Protection Fund warns about the negative consequences of paying and receiving wages "in envelopes".

The issue of salary payments in violation of legislation without their reflection in accounting records, commonly referred to as "envelope" wages, is under special scrutiny by state authorities. This is a high-profile matter of importance not only for the state's economy but also for every working citizen who receives wages in this manner.

 

A working citizen, without official registration of employment or civil law relations, enters a zone of social risk, losing, first and foremost, the right to the promised earnings, to state-guaranteed payments due to temporary disability, as well as to insurance pensionable service.

The Social Protection Fund's bodies have been receiving information from employers since 2003 regarding the amounts of wages accrued to employees and mandatory insurance contributions paid. Each citizen can request this information concerning themselves.

Information on the periods of insurance contribution payments and the amounts from which they were paid, and confirmation of its accuracy, can be obtained by contacting any regional department of the Fund for information from an individual personal account, either in person or in writing, and it is provided free of charge by the Fund's bodies (https://ssf.gov.by/ru/contacts-ru/). When applying in person, a social insurance certificate and an identity document must be presented; when applying in writing, a completed application form of the established format must be sent.

This information can also be obtained using the "FSZN" mobile application, which needs to be downloaded to your mobile device (from one of the platforms: Google Play, App Store, AppGallery). Access to the application is via a login and password obtained after registration and authentication in the Interbank Identification System.
