During the first May holidays, rescuers of the Verkhnedvinsk region will intensify inspections of the housing stock of citizens

From May 1 to May 4, rescuers of the Verkhnedvinsk garrison will intensify their work on inspecting the housing stock of citizens in the city of Verkhnedvinsk and the Verkhnedvinsk district. Rescuers will focus on private houses and apartments in multi-story buildings, as well as summer cottages in gardening associations.

 

The purpose of this work is to increase the level of fire protection for the population and prevent fires and deaths from them. Special attention will be paid to apartments and houses where socially vulnerable categories of the population live: large families, lonely pensioners and disabled people, as well as citizens leading an antisocial lifestyle.

During the inspections, rescuers will focus on the presence and operability of autonomous fire alarms, the condition of stove heating (if any), the state of electrical wiring and electrical equipment, as well as on the rules for maintaining order on adjacent territories. As part of the inspections, citizens will be given recommendations for eliminating identified violations.

In addition to inspecting private residences, "Safety Posts" will be set up in places with mass gatherings of people, where rescuers will conduct preventive talks with the public, explain the rules for the safe use of electrical equipment and heating devices, and actions in case of a fire. Booklets and leaflets with fire safety information will be distributed.

The main goal of the events is to prevent fires and preserve people's lives and health. Citizens are advised to treat the inspections with understanding and cooperate with rescuers in ensuring fire safety. Remember, adhering to simple rules can save your life and property!

Since the beginning of the year, the Vitebsk region has seen an increase in fires and deaths. 345 fires have been recorded (+50 cases compared to last year), and 32 people have died (+10 cases compared to 2024).
