A unified information day was held at the Verkhnedvinsk Central District Hospital
On the eve of a date significant for every Belarusian – the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War – Vladimir Plytsevich, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Healthcare Workers' Trade Union, met with the staff of the institution.
Vladimir Plytsevich spoke about the feat of our citizens who heroically fought against the enemy, and about the home front workers who made a significant contribution to the common victory. He cited facts that testify to the genocide of the Belarusian people during the war, as well as the atrocities of the fascists in the occupied territories.
The leader of the regional branch trade union noted that provisions aimed at preserving historical truth and memory of the Great Patriotic War and the mass heroism of the people were included in the updated Constitution of the Republic of Belarus to counter any attempts to distort the true interpretation of historical events and deprive them of their true meaning. – We continue to tell the truth about the Great Patriotic War, about all the hardships and deprivations of that time, – emphasized Vladimir Plytsevich. – The war affected every Belarusian family, grief touched almost everyone in the Soviet Union, so we will never forget the feat of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers who gave their lives for the peaceful sky over our independent country.
