On January 31, 2025, Belarus will host the Unified Road Safety Day under the slogan "The road does not forgive mistakes."

The goal is to prevent road accidents with severe consequences.

According to the Verkhnedvinsk District Department of Internal Affairs, the main causes of accidents are the indiscipline of drivers and pedestrians, and violations of traffic rules. Speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to comply with rules at pedestrian crossings, and non-use of child restraint systems often lead to irreparable consequences. In turn, pedestrians provoke accidents by crossing the road in unauthorized places and not using reflective devices in the dark.
