Today, September 27, the State Automobile Inspectorate will hold a Unified Road Safety Day across the country under the slogan "Don't be invisible - light up in the dark!".

Traffic police officers will visit work collectives and educational institutions, where they will remind about the rules of safe behavior in the dark, explain the necessity and rules of using retroreflective elements and high-visibility clothing.

 

Pedestrians moving along the edge of the roadway or shoulder in the dark must use retroreflective elements. Cyclists and persons using personal mobility devices must also be visible in the dark.

It is important for drivers to exercise increased caution when passing pedestrian crossings and driving on highways near populated areas, observe speed limits and maneuvering rules.

On Friday and weekends, the State Automobile Inspectorate will strengthen control on the roads and take additional measures to ensure the safety of vulnerable road users.

Increased attention will be paid to addressing accident-prone road sections.
