Hunting for beaver and otter has opened since September 1st

Hunting for beaver and otter is open from September 1, 2024, and will continue until March 31, 2025. Hunting for beaver and otter is permitted by firearm from ambush, by stalking, by approaching from small vessels, at burrows, as well as without firearms at burrows, using traps or snares (excluding nooses).

 

As hunting implements, it is permitted to use rifled hunting weapons with a muzzle energy of the bullet exceeding 1500 joules, smooth-bore weapons using cartridges loaded with a bullet or buckshot, hunting bows and crossbows. When hunting by approaching, small vessels without an engine or with a non-operating engine, hunting dogs (excluding hounds and sighthounds), traps and snares (excluding nooses) are permitted.

Hunting for beaver and otter is allowed both during daylight and nighttime. However, it should be noted that during hunting without firearms with traps or snares, their installation (removal), inspection, setting, and extraction of bagged animals are permitted only during daylight hours. Hunting by firearm or without firearms at burrows, as well as hunting by firearm by approaching from small vessels, are permitted only during daylight hours.
