Rules at border crossing points

Since the beginning of 2024, officials of the Vitebsk Customs have detected 9 cases of money being left in documents presented by citizens for inspection by customs officials at the republican border crossing points of Vitebsk Customs.

The Law of the Republic of Belarus of 21.07.2008 No. 419-Z "On the State Border of the Republic of Belarus" defines the list of rules for observing the border regime, which prohibits leaving money in documents presented for inspection at border crossing points of the Republic of Belarus.
Vitebsk Customs draws the attention of citizens to the fact that violation of the regime at a border crossing point entails administrative liability under Article 24.21 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses. For this violation, a fine of up to 50 base units is provided, and for a repeat offense – up to 100 base units (with or without deportation in both cases).
In addition, we consider it important to remind that such actions may also lead to criminal liability under Article 431 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the sanction of which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to five years.
