From April 1st, applications for participation in the National Competition "Entrepreneur of the Year" will be accepted.
In accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated March 17, 2016 No. 207, the Ministry of Economy announces the launch of the National Competition "Entrepreneur of the Year" from April 1, 2024.
Applications for participation in the competition are accepted from April 1 to June 1, 2024 at the city/district executive committee at the location (place of residence) of the potential winner of the competition.
Requirements for competition participants by nominations:
- "Successful Start"
small and medium-sized enterprises (excluding individual entrepreneurs) registered in the Republic of Belarus from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021.
- "Stable Success"
legal entities that are not small businesses and registered in the Republic of Belarus before December 31, 2018.
- "Effective Business in Production"
small and medium-sized enterprises (excluding individual entrepreneurs) registered in the Republic of Belarus before December 31, 2020, and whose main type of economic activity, in accordance with the General Classifier of the Republic of Belarus OKRB 005-2011 "Types of Economic Activities", approved by the Resolution of the State Committee for Standardization of December 5, 2011 No. 85 "On
The following are not eligible to participate in the competition:
- professional participants of the securities market;
- subjects of natural monopolies;
- legal entities and individual entrepreneurs who are undergoing reorganization, or in respect of whom insolvency (bankruptcy) proceedings have been initiated, or whose main activities include the production and sale of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, oil and petroleum products, mineral and chemical potash fertilizers, lottery activities, gambling activities, organization and conduct of electronic interactive games;
- legal entities whose representatives are members of the competition organizing committee.
The principal conditions for selecting applicants for participation in the competition are the absence in 2023 of:
- losses and debts to republican and local budgets, state non-budgetary fund budgets, as well as for wage payments;
- fatal industrial accidents and (or) those leading to severe industrial injuries caused by the employer's fault;
- cases of bringing an individual entrepreneur or the head of a legal entity **to criminal liability** in connection with their entrepreneurial activities;
- cases of imposing administrative penalties on a competition participant in the form of confiscation of income, goods (products), revenue from the sale of products, goods, works, services, and (or) a fine, and (or) recovery of the value of the subject of an administrative offense in an amount exceeding 250 basic units.
Entrepreneurs wishing to participate in the Competition must send their applications to the relevant executive authorities (at the place of state registration).
The awarding of competition winners takes place in a solemn ceremony by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus or, by his order, by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, with the presentation of diplomas "Winner of the National Competition 'Entrepreneur of the Year'", a commemorative prize of the competition, and a bonus in the amount of:
- for the winner in the nomination "Effective Individual Business" – 50 basic units;
- for the winners in the other nominations – 100 basic units.
