A ban on going out on the ice has been introduced in the Vitebsk region
A ban on going out on the ice has been introduced in the Vitebsk region. Specialists urge to wait until the ice thickness reaches at least 7 cm.
On the eve of the active ice fishing season, the Belarusian Voluntary Society for Rescue on Waters (OSVOD) has issued recommendations.
It is the duty of everyone going out on the ice, even when it is safe, to have a rope with a weight and ice picks. Anyone who goes out on the ice must wear a life jacket. Parents must know where their children are and explain to them that going out on any ice surface is currently unsafe.
