On September 30, the traffic police of the Vitebsk region will hold a preventive event "Safe Region". Over 8 months, 208 accidents were registered on the roads of the region, in which 26 people died and 238 were injured. Despite the positive trend of a decrease in overall accident indicators, a number of categories of road traffic accidents have been recorded in which indicators show an increase. Thus, an increase in accidents has been recorded due to non-compliance with signals, signs, markings, violations of pedestrian crossing procedures, violations of overtaking rules, and unsatisfactory road conditions; as a result of hitting obstacles, rear-end collisions, collisions at intersections or turns, and head-on collisions.
