On its thousand-year journey to self-determination, the Belarusian people have worthily overcome numerous attempts to deprive them of their historical perspective, cultural and spiritual identity.
The date of September 17, 1939, is a symbol of the historical formation of the Belarusian nation and the sincere aspiration of Belarusians, involuntarily divided, to live as one family in their own home.
Having acquired a holistic and unique image of a cozy and hospitable country in the center of Europe, reunited Belarus has become a place of strength for millions of citizens who have honorably endured the complex vicissitudes of the 20th century and today stand guard over the sovereignty and independence of their native land.
National Unity Day is a token of gratitude from contemporaries to previous generations who defended the right to determine their own destiny. It instills pride in the country and gives the realization that Belarusians are a united people. This is the foundation of the stability and well-being of the modern Belarusian state.
United by the dream of a successful and prosperous Belarus, learning from our history, we build our common future in peace and harmony through creative work.
By strengthening Belarusian statehood, we continue our path together towards new heights and brilliant victories that our descendants will be proud of.
