Verkhnedvinsk residents at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk"
The regional center is transforming into a large stage these days, hosting various cultural events, many of them in an "open-air" format, meaning under the open sky.
Masters, artists, and ensembles from the Verkhnedvinsk district will take part in the festive program.
On July 13, the "City of Masters" opened its doors – a place where any craftswoman can admire the works of like-minded people, gain ideas, and inspiration for creativity. Visitors immerse themselves in the magical world of crafts, purchase handmade items they like, meet the creators, and learn new skills.
Annually, the Verkhnedvinsk House of Crafts presents its works at the "City of Masters". This time, our artisans brought 18 revived crafts for the audience's review, including rep weaving, spiral braiding, and many others.
Irina Solovyova, a craftswoman from the folk club of masters of folk arts and crafts and amateur artists of the district House of Crafts, will take part in the regional competition of embroidery and crochet and knitting masters "Charou̯naya nitka", and Tamara Myadel, a master of folk crafts, will showcase her art in the international competition "Lazovy prut".
Today, July 14, on Pushkin Square, as part of the Union State Day, the festival of folk culture and traditions "Gulyai, narod!" is taking place. Ensembles from Verkhnedvinsk and Sebezh: the folk vocal and choreographic ensemble "Yarytsa", the folk ensemble of folk music "Verkhnyadzvinski muzyki", and the folk song ensemble "Sudarushka" will present a joint concert program on a common stage.
A joint courtyard is also operating nearby, featuring national cuisine, products from various brands, and tourist routes of the "Protected Lake District" of the Osveya Reserve and the Sebezh National Park. Here, masters from two brotherly countries demonstrate traditional crafts, patchwork sewing, and conduct master classes on making amulet dolls, decorating gingerbread, crafting brooches, beading, and embroidery. Residents of Sebezh offer visitors to learn the technique of fabric printing. A wood carving master will teach how to make souvenirs. And, of course, guests of the courtyard will be able to taste national dishes of Belarusian and Russian cuisines prepared by participants of the folk ensemble of Belarusian national cuisine, games, and folklore "Rasitsa" and Sebezh culinary masters. All this will be "seasoned" with folk flavor, songs, dances, and games.
On Saturday, July 15, the folk ensemble of folk music "Verkhnyadzvinski muzyki" will accompany the X International Tournament of National Dances for the fifth time. The event starts at 13:00 on Freedom Square. On the same day, the folk ensemble of Belarusian national cuisine, games, and folklore "Rasitsa" will take part in the III regional festival of Belarusian national cuisine "Dzivinski smak", which will be held at the Ilya Repin Estate Museum "Zdravnevo".
