The traditional 64th meeting of veterans and residents of border regions took place at the Mound of Friendship in the Verkhnedvinsk district. The delegation of the Vitebsk region of Belarus was headed by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, and the Pskov region of the Russian Federation – by Governor Mikhail Vedernikov. The official delegation of the Vitebsk region included the Chairman of the Verkhnedvinsk District Executive Committee, Vasily Shilov, the Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, Irina Kozel, representatives of the district executive committee, labor collectives, and the public. Participants of the large-scale celebration laid wreaths and flowers at the monuments to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, and at the rally expressed their commitment to the traditions of friendship and brotherhood, sealed with blood during the years of struggle against the fascist invaders. The guests of the meeting showed interest in the reconstruction of the partisan village, exhibitions and museum expositions, and concert performances.
