The founding conference of the district branch of the Belarusian party «Belaya Rus» was held in Verkhnedvinsk.

At the beginning of the month, the Belarusian "Belaya Rus" Party was registered by the Ministry of Justice, initiated by the public organization of the same name. On May 13, at a meeting of the Supreme Political Council, a decision was made to establish organizational structures of the Party in all districts of the republic.

In Verkhnedvinsk, Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee T.V. Sevalkina and Head of the Department of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs of the District Executive Committee N.F. Andreeva took part in the founding conference.

L.A. Kuvshinova, Director of the Verkhnedvinsk Centralized Library System, Chairman of the District Coordination Council of Political Parties and Public Organizations, was elected Secretary presiding over the Conference.

The agenda included several issues, including the establishment of the Verkhnedvinsk District Branch of the Vitebsk Region "Belaya Rus" Party with the right of legal entity, the admission of new members to the party, and the election of the Council of the district organizational structure, its chairman, and deputies.

By open vote, a Council of the district branch of the Party was elected, consisting of nine people. The Chairman of the Council became V.I. Gubanov, Director of OJSC "Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Factory". His deputies are S.P. Drozdova, Director of the Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 2 of Verkhnedvinsk named after Hero of the Soviet Union N.V. Troyan", and I.I.
