The Verkhnedvinsk Gymnasium has been named after the Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Andreevich Makeenko

The solemn ceremony was attended by distinguished guests: Chairman of the Verkhnedvinsk District Executive Committee Vasily Shilov, Chairman of the District Council of Deputies Irina Kozel, Director of OJSC "Invets", Deputy of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Sergey Gromadko, heads of law enforcement agencies and organizations of the district, Captain 2nd Rank, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Union of Officers Sergey Denisov, Chairman of the Regional Branch of Marine Veterans Major Vasily Yerilov, marines, and naval veterans from Verkhnedvinsk, Senno, Tolochin, Shumilino, and Vitebsk.

Students conducted meticulous research on the life and heroic deeds of Ivan Andreevich Makeyonok, which resulted in the opening of a thematic museum exhibition at the gymnasium.
