More than 35,000 individuals have been processed by Vitebsk customs officers since the beginning of the year while performing certain functions of border guard agencies

Currently, within the operational area of the Vitebsk Customs, certain functions of the border service concerning individuals traveling on international transport vehicles are carried out by customs officials at the Polotsk railway station, at the "Bigosovo" border crossing point, at the "Orsha Airport" border crossing point, as well as at the "Urbany" and "Grigorovshchina" road border crossing points.

Since the beginning of the current year, at the "Urbany" and "Grigorovshchina" road border crossing points, Vitebsk Customs officials have conducted passport control for over 35,000 individuals and processed more than 34,000 international transport vehicles.

At the Polotsk station during the specified period, 700 freight train compositions were processed, and over 1,500 individuals crossing the State Border of the Republic of Belarus were admitted.

The average time for passport control conducted by Vitebsk Customs officials for an individual crossing the State Border of the Republic of Belarus does not exceed 2 minutes.

During passport control conducted by customs officials at the end of 2022, 2 offenses related to border crossing regime violations were detected: presenting an invalid document upon entry into the Republic of Belarus, and leaving monetary funds in a passport. Administrative responsibility is provided for these offenses, with sanctions including a fine of up to 50 base units, with or without deportation.
