April holidays should be safe

Easter is the most ancient and important Christian holiday. Catholics celebrated Easter on April 9, and Orthodox Christians celebrated it a week later, on April 16. And so that the upcoming holidays are not overshadowed by troubles, it is necessary to remember and, most importantly, observe the simplest safety rules.

When visiting churches and temples:

– be careful when lighting candles from candle holders, roll up your sleeves;

– tie scarves tightly and tuck away hair, reducing the risk of candle flame catching them;

– watch your children so they do not place a lit candle near your clothing;

– in case of clothing catching fire, quickly take it off, try to extinguish it with improvised means – water or use a fire extinguisher;

– visually familiarize yourself with the layout of the church (temple) to know the evacuation routes;

– in case of a fire alarm activation and notification of a fire, do not panic, leave the premises without creating panic or stampede, report the incident to the Ministry of Emergency Situations by calling 101 or 112.

If you decide to place a lit candle at home, it should be done in a non-combustible stand away from flammable objects, and do not forget to constantly monitor its burning process.

When visiting burial sites (cemeteries):

– do not throw burning matches or cigarette butts;

– do not set dry grass on fire, do not build bonfires near bushes, trees, or structures;

– waste incineration must be controlled and should only be done in calm weather.
