Председатель Верхнедвинского районного Совета депутатов Ирина Козел – о Послании Президента народу и парламенту

Chairperson of the Verkhnedvinsk District Council of Deputies Irina Kozel – on the President's Address to the Nation and Parliament

The President's Address to the Belarusian people and parliament is, in essence, an action plan for the coming year and the future. Its implementation depends on the main condition: the unity of the people.

The main task of the deputies is to unite people to achieve the set goals, to work for the common good, and to take care together to ensure that life in their native land is peaceful and prosperous.
We constantly meet with voters in work collectives, at dialogue platforms, and at their places of residence, discuss pressing issues, and accept mandates and wishes for implementation. On the eve of the 2024 election campaign, the head of state rightly asked whether everyone had fulfilled what they had promised to the people. And if not, there is still time to complete the work.
We see that over the past five electoral years, the district has moved forward, and much has been done to improve people's quality of life. New industries have been opened, jobs have been created, rental housing has been built, social facilities have been commissioned, and interesting cultural traditions have emerged. And the people's elected representatives have contributed to this. Deputies undertake to solve all the tasks dictated by life: they cooperate with the executive authorities in implementing plans for the development of the economy and the social sphere, the improvement of settlements, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the preservation of historical memory and cultural heritage, and the popularization of new brands of their native region and tourism. A Youth Chamber has been established under the District Council, which is adopting the experience of the older generation and contributing its own ideas to the development of the district.
Among the latest tasks set for local self-government bodies is assistance in carrying out a set of measures to strengthen borders, develop territorial defense, and create a militia mechanism. Explanatory work has been carried out with the population, and our residents have understood the situation and are ready to defend their homes and families from any aggression.
And in general, we overcome all the challenges of our time with the people. It has become a good practice to jointly discuss our achievements and problems, and to consult on how we will live in our territory and what needs to be done to correct shortcomings. Before the elections, we will hold meetings with voters, where we will summarize what has been done and listen to proposals on what should be paid more attention to.
As accurately stated in the Address, which is permeated with care for people from beginning to end, they will not leave their rural areas if decent living and working conditions are created. Work is underway to solve this issue.

and will have to work.
