The opening of the modernized industry laboratory for oil refining at Polotsk State University took place in Novopolotsk. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, the Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee Dmitry Demidov, and the Rector of Polotsk State University Yuri Romanovsky.
The opening took place on April 4 during the dialogue platform "Prospects for the Innovative Development of the City of Novopolotsk."
The laboratory, established in 2018, is designed to address the challenges of developing the scientific and human resources potential of the Republic of Belarus in the field of oil refining and petrochemicals. Over the past two years, economic contracts worth more than 480 thousand rubles have been fulfilled here for enterprises in the region.
In 2022, the equipment was modernized and specialized premises were renovated. Over three years, new research-grade equipment worth approximately 500 thousand rubles has been acquired in addition to the existing assets.
The modernization of the laboratory will allow for the expansion of its accreditation areas for carrying out licensed activities in the interests of regional enterprises; conducting research work in priority areas that anticipate industrial demands; and concentrating resources on the university's core scientific and innovation competencies to achieve breakthrough results.
