Negotiations between Belarus and Russia on gas prices are in the final stage, reported Belarusian Energy Minister Denis Moroz, answering questions from deputies after presenting the draft law "On the Ratification of the Treaty between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on the Formation of a Unified Electricity Market of the Union State," according to a BELTA correspondent. "Negotiations are underway regarding gas. We have made significant progress in the past three-year period and reached an agreement to fix the price of natural gas for the Republic of Belarus for three years. This three-year period ends this year. Currently, negotiations on the formation of the cost of natural gas for the Republic of Belarus are being finalized. We expect further convergence of natural gas prices for consumers in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, which in turn will lead to a convergence of the cost of electricity produced from natural gas," said Denis Moroz.
