During his official visit to Astana, Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a BELTA correspondent reports. The meeting discussed the prospects for trade, economic cooperation, and industrial cooperation. "Alexander Genrikhovich, I am pleased to welcome you to Astana. This is your first official visit to us as head of government. We consider this visit very important given the level of development of cooperation between our states. Trade between our countries is developing successfully. Kazakhstan is the second trading partner of Belarus (among CIS countries. - BELTA note). We treat your country, your people, and their unique culture with great sympathy and respect. Of course, the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has made a huge contribution to the development of our relations. Taking this opportunity, I would like to convey greetings and best wishes to the President of Belarus. We are committed to the most positive work with the corresponding result. We are interested in the successful development of cooperation continuing," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In turn, Alexander Turchin conveyed the warmest wishes from Alexander Lukashenko to the President of Kazakhstan. "We in Belarus, as your friends, are closely following the development of Kazakhstan and are happy with your successes. For a long time now, your country has been demonstrating stable economic growth, and we cannot but rejoice in your achievements," he emphasized.
