MTS and beCloud have implemented another stage of 4G base station activations with a focus on rural areas
MTS, in partnership with infrastructure operator beCloud, has implemented a new stage of 4G network modernization. A significant portion of the new connections were deployed in small towns and rural settlements, where stable communication and access to digital services are particularly important.
As part of this stage, 265 additional sectors were activated on 156 LTE base stations. More than half of the new base stations are located on MTS infrastructure, which allows other operators in the country to use 4G resources within the infrastructure model. Almost 60% of the activated sectors operate in the 1800 MHz range, providing an optimal balance of coverage and signal stability, especially in rural areas. Another quarter operate in the 2600 MHz range, which is used in congested areas. In total, the nineteenth stage of mass 4G network expansion covered 116 settlements, including major cities such as Minsk, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, and Brest. A number of district-level cities were also affected: Baranovichi, Beshenkovichi, Bobruisk, Drogichin, Ivanovo, Ivye, Zhytkavichy, Kalinkovichi, Kostyukovichi, Lyakhovichi, Luninets, Mstislavl, Orsha, Osipovichi, Pinsk, Rogachev, Senno, Slavgorod, Stolin, Ushachi, and Khotimsk.Reference:MTS is the largest telecommunications operator in Belarus by subscriber numbers. MTS is the leader in mobile communication quality in the Republic of Belarus based on the results of the 3rd quarter. The operator's network has the highest overall integrated score based on measurements conducted by the state telecommunication supervision authority, the enterprise "BelGIE". This is evidenced by the data from the monitoring of telecommunication service quality as of 09:00 on October 31.
