President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is holding a meeting on ensuring the sustainable development of the Vitebsk region

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is holding a meeting on ensuring the sustainable development of the Vitebsk region.

– There are two crucial issues on today's agenda. The main one is the development of the Vitebsk region. We cannot allow stagnation in the region and calmly observe the growth of negative trends, – said the Head of State. – It is time to summarize the development of the Vitebsk region, identify shortcomings, and develop solutions that will help the region drastically improve the situation in problem sectors.

The meeting discusses the work of integration structures and the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region, as well as the work of the industrial sector.

Among the topics discussed at the meeting is livestock mortality and the measures necessary to improve the situation in this area, not only in the Vitebsk region but also in the country as a whole.

The active members of the Vitebsk region are invited to the event: heads of district executive committees, large enterprises, as well as delegations from other regions of Belarus.

“To preserve the village is the main goal. If there is no village, there will be no state,” – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko emphasized this during the meeting on ensuring the sustainable development of the Vitebsk region.

— It is important that everyone present hears and understands what we will do next. We produce twice as much agricultural products as we need for the country. But the most important goal, as before, is mine, and I would very much hope yours too – to save the village, to preserve the village. If there is no village, there will be no state, we will be doomed. Today there is a shortage of people, and primarily in rural areas, – noted the Head of State.

– The Vitebsk region is not easy, it is not the southern Brest region or the Grodno region, but it is our land. People elected me, understanding that as President, I am obliged to organize you to protect our country. So that, God forbid, what is happening in neighboring Ukraine does not happen. In this regard, I often say that it is better to work on a tractor, believe me, than to fight, than to roll along the front line in a tank. It is better to work! – the President continued.
