Belarus and Oman are opening a new chapter of interaction, a solid foundation has been formed for further mutually beneficial cooperation in many areas. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich at a meeting in the Council of Ministers with the Vice-Prime Minister of the Sultanate of Oman for Defense Affairs, Shihab bin Tareq bin Taimur Al Said, BELTA correspondent reports.


"I am glad for the opportunity to continue the trusting and open dialogue, the tone of which was set by the leaders of our countries yesterday during negotiations at the Palace of Independence. The first state visit of His Majesty the Sultan to the Republic of Belarus has undoubtedly become a historic event in bilateral relations. I am confident that this visit fully opens a new page in our interaction," said Viktor Karankevich.

He stressed that Belarus highly values the attention paid in Oman to the development of ties between the countries. The leaders' negotiations were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. "The dialogue between Belarus and Oman will become an example of equal, trusting and mutually beneficial cooperation between friendly countries. In recent years, relations between Belarus and Oman have become not just strong. They have formed a solid foundation for further mutually beneficial cooperation in many areas," said Viktor Karankevich.

Following yesterday's negotiations, a roadmap for cooperation for 2026-2027 was signed, which defines specific steps for interaction between industries, including a package of documents in the fields of agriculture, logistics, healthcare, and justice. The countries have also taken steps to develop tourism and exchange business delegations. An agreement on mutual visa exemption has been signed. An important outcome was the agreement to launch joint investment projects.

"I am confident that the agreements reached will stimulate the business community to work more actively on increasing mutual trade in goods and services, and implementing joint projects in the areas of industrial cooperation and food security. Belarus is interested in fully utilizing Oman's logistics potential, its free economic zones, and its modernizing infrastructure for joint promotion of products to the markets of the Gulf countries, the Middle East, and East Africa," said Viktor Karankevich.
