Farmers in the Vitebsk region have threshed 1 million tons of grain and rapeseed
At the field of the RUP "Vitebsk Zonal Institute of Agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus," a solemn ceremony was held to mark the threshing of 1 million tons of grain and rapeseed by the region's agrarians.
According to the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, considering the weather and all circumstances, this is a real feat. The harvest was not easy: combine units were accompanied by heavy tractors in case of getting stuck in rain-soaked soil. The head of the region emphasized that everyone tried very hard and gave 120% this year. He expressed immense gratitude to the Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev, and Gomel regions, which sent combine harvester brigades to help, contributing to the achievement, and called the 1 million tons one of the intermediate milestones that inspire further success.
Handing over a symbolic sheaf to Alexander Subbotin, the First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Sergey Levkovich, noted that the achieved indicator indicates that this is not the maximum potential for the Vitebsk region. However, under the current conditions, it is a significant achievement, as everyone who works the land knows. Regular rains affected the pace of the harvesting campaign. Inter-farm and inter-district transfer of equipment was used more than ever before, and other regions provided assistance. Without organized work at the district, regional, and republican levels, such a result would not have been achieved. In general, 1 million tons is a testament to the coordinated work of the rural workers.
