Winners of the regional competition among journalists and media editorial offices were awarded in Vitebsk
The Vitebsk Concert Hall hosted a solemn award ceremony for the winners of the annual regional competition among journalists and media outlets of the Vitebsk region, dedicated to Press Day and Radio, Television, and Communications Day.
The festive event began with the presentation of the mobile exhibition "Pages of Victory" by the regional newspaper "Vitebskiye Vesti," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It consists of 15 posters and an online project that allows modern readers to browse through archives of old newspapers.
Addressing the attendees, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, noted that it is thanks to journalists, printing house workers, post office employees, and communication specialists that it is possible today to convey history, deliver reliable information, and keep people informed about events.
– You are truly the fourth branch of power in our country. It depends on you what people will see, remember, and how they will perceive certain events. Therefore, your work is very important, as you are the chroniclers of the region, – said Alexander Subbotin.
