Alexander Subbotin and Dmitry Demidov took part in tree planting in the Vitebsk region
The landscaping project covered the area near the 70th kilometer of the M-8/E95 highway, specifically the border of the Russian Federation – Vitebsk – Gomel – border of Ukraine, known as the Tarasenkaya interchange. A labor force, including member of the Council of the Republic Gleb Lapitsky, representatives of the deputy corps, the regional committee for natural resources and environmental protection, the district executive committee, the branch "DORSU № 31" of RUE "Vitebskavtodor," and public organizations, planted about 300 maple trees.
In accordance with the regional plan of measures for the Year of Improvement, each district has been assigned tasks, among others, for landscaping territories and planting trees and shrubs along republican highways. Planting plans for spring are being completed in the last days of April, and work will continue in the autumn.
– Improvement is not just about planting trees and landscaping. It's just that now is the right time for these specific works, a time for a kind of "spring sowing," – noted Alexander Subbotin. – The complex of planned works includes road repairs (about 1.3 million square meters of road surface will be repaired), yard improvements, construction of water de-ironing stations, and reconstruction of street lighting. In particular, about 13.7 thousand conventional lamps will be replaced with LED fixtures. This year, every corner of our land should become more beautiful.
