The concept of the regional patriotic event 'Breakthrough of Victory' was discussed at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee
The concept of the regional patriotic event "Victory Breakthrough," traditionally held in Ushachi, was reviewed at a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation and conduct of the event.
As noted by Dmitry Demidov, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, "Victory Breakthrough" is a landmark project of the Vitebsk region dedicated to the events of May 1944, when the Polotsk-Lepel partisan formation broke through the enemy blockade, and over 15,000 civilians were evacuated from the encirclement along with the partisans. This year's event is also timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The meeting on the heroic land of Ushachi is scheduled for May 2 and 3. This year it will be held for the tenth time. The start will be given in the village of Paulye, where the opening of the reconstructed monument in honor of the soldiers and partisans who fought against the occupiers will take place.
