The results for 2024 were summarized at the board of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Department of Internal Affairs

The regional Department of Internal Affairs held a final meeting of the Board of the Department of Internal Affairs. Issues of the effectiveness of the operational and service activities of the internal affairs bodies of the region in 2024, the fulfillment of the directive requirements of the head of state, measures taken to strengthen law and order, public safety, service discipline were considered, and plans for 2025 were outlined.

 

 

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Major General of Militia Dmitry Korzyuk, Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, representatives of law enforcement agencies, the regional court, and the management staff of the regional Department of Internal Affairs and territorial police departments.

Dmitry Korzyuk emphasized that the organizational and practical measures taken by the internal affairs bodies of the Vitebsk region in 2024 allowed for controlling the operational situation in the region and maintaining positive dynamics in key areas.

The socio-economic and socio-political situation in the Vitebsk region is generally characterized as stable. The main focus was on maintaining public order, ensuring public safety, protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, preventing and suppressing crimes and administrative offenses, improving the road traffic situation, reducing juvenile delinquency, and combating extremism. A positive trend is noted in the reduction of fraud, theft, murder, extortion, robbery, and a decrease in recidivism, crimes in public places, and crimes committed by intoxicated individuals.
