Initiative groups note that voter turnout remains high – people are readily using the opportunity to cast their signatures in support of their preferred candidate.
For instance, three pickets were organized on Tuesday, December 3, in Orsha. The chosen location was a busy spot – at the entrance to the shopping area of the "Euroopt" supermarket on Yakubovskogo Street. Consequently, there were many who wished to support their candidate.
Here, signature collection groups were set up for the incumbent President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, Sergey Syrankov, and individual entrepreneur Anna Kanopatskaya.
Lyudmila Knypik, a member of the initiative group for collecting signatures for the incumbent President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, admits that this is her third presidential campaign, so she has something to compare it with.
– The activity has noticeably increased, – the woman says. – Everyone is in a benevolent mood, people are signing with good spirits, consciously. I see a significantly increased level of political maturity among our citizens. People understand the value of peaceful skies above their heads, stability, and tranquility. Some lament not having their passports with them. However, they still go home and return with their documents to sign for a candidate. Some share what concerns them and how they would like to see their leader. Therefore, I would add that pickets are not just for collecting signatures, but rather a kind of platform for public dialogue.
For example, friends and colleagues Olga and Tatyana stated that participating in elections at all stages is the duty of everyone who cares about the future. The women stopped by the store for shopping after work, saw the pickets, and without hesitation decided to support their candidate.
– We are signing for peace, stability, and reliability, – they outlined their choice. – The future President, first and foremost, must be fair, decent, a person of their word, and a strong leader.
