Plus one hectare. The Vitebsk region joined the republican campaign «Give the forest a new life»

The leadership of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee planted about 7,000 pine seedlings in the Liozno district.

 

- Traditionally, we are accustomed to planting forests in the spring. This year, our President set the tone for an autumn campaign. One of the reasons is the hurricane that struck us in the summer. At that time, the epicenter of windfalls and forest destruction was Gomel region. In our region, more than a hundred hectares of forest were felled. The misfortune that occurred stimulated us to pay even closer attention to forest renewal, - emphasized the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin.

We remind you that the republican voluntary campaign "Give the Forest New Life" has been held in the country since October 12. It was personally launched by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during a working trip to his small homeland in the Shklovsky district. The campaign is aimed at restoring forest areas affected by the hurricane.
