In the Vitebsk region, civil initiatives will be financed from the regional budget in the amount of 300 thousand rubles

A total of 17 projects from almost all districts of the Vitebsk region, as well as from Vitebsk and Novopolotsk, have been selected for the final of the regional competition of civic initiatives.

As reported by the chairman of the competition commission, head of the Vitebsk region's deputy corps Dmitry Demidov, all of them deserve attention, are diverse in content, and aim to solve pressing issues of a particular locality. These include perpetuating the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War, improving territories, creating a barrier-free environment, and constructing infrastructure facilities for children and adolescents.

– This competition is aimed at the broadest possible involvement of citizens in solving the problems of local communities. At the same time, projects should imply not just the submission of an idea, but also the direct participation of local residents in its implementation, including the involvement of project initiators in co-financing in the amount of 10 percent of the project cost, – noted Dmitry Demidov.
