Alexander Lukashenko's working trip is dedicated to the development of agricultural production in the Shklov and Orsha districts

During a working trip to the Shklovsky district, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will consider issues of effective development of agricultural production in the Shklovsky and Orshansky districts. The meeting in Shklov is dedicated to this topic, reports BELTA.

Among the participants of the meeting are the heads of the Presidential Administration, the State Control Committee, the Office of the President, the Deputy Prime Minister overseeing the agro-industrial complex, the chairmen of the Vitebsk and Mogilev regional executive committees, the head of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Minister of Agriculture and Food, and the President's aides in these two regions. Representatives of the local government vertical and the heads of agricultural enterprises in the Shklovsky and Orshansky districts have also been invited to the meeting.

He explained that then it would be clear to everyone what and from whom the executive committee chairmen could demand, and there would be no disputes regarding departmental subordination and limits of competence. During the meeting, Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the need to resolve a very important issue - to determine the methods for increasing the efficiency of agricultural production in the two key districts. Initially, the discussion turned to Orsha. The region received an impetus for development at the end of 2018, when the President signed Decree No. 506 "On the Development of the Orshansky District" with the aim of improving the standard and quality of life of people. A five-year program of accelerated development was adopted, which covered almost all areas of production and the social sphere. "The project is exemplary. A program-target method was used. Elements of integration were identified," noted Alexander Lukashenko.

The President emphasized that all necessary resources were allocated, and over Br1 billion was invested specifically in the agro-industrial complex of the Orshansky district. "The district has been somewhat improved. People's salaries have been increased. The outflow of personnel has slowed down (only slowed down)," the head of state pointed out the positive effect.

At the same time, shortcomings were also identified. For example, not all measures provided for by the program were implemented, and a number of production and financial indicators were not achieved. In particular, it was not possible to reach the parameters for grain and flax. New processing capacities remained underutilized due to raw material shortages. A number of farms are still not stocked with livestock.

"I think you will have to work hard to bring this program to its logical conclusion," said Alexander Lukashenko.
