44.7 thousand tons of winter barley harvested by Vitebsk region agrarians

In the fields of the Vitebsk region, not only the current harvest is being gathered, but also the future one is being laid – plowing of the soil for winter rapeseed has begun.

According to the regional agricultural and food department, as of today, winter barley has been harvested from 19.2 thousand hectares (68% of the plan), with 44.7 thousand tons threshed at an average yield of 23.3 centners per hectare (the best indicator is in the Lepel district – 37.5 centners per hectare). Winter rapeseed has been harvested from 11.8 thousand hectares (34.3%), yielding 14.1 thousand tons of oilseeds, with a yield of 11.9 centners per hectare (Dokshitsky and Orsha districts are leading with 21 centners per hectare and 20.9 centners per hectare, respectively).

The preparation of fodder from the second mowing continues. Perennial grasses have been mowed on 57.2 thousand hectares (36.3%), with 11.21 centners of feed units prepared per conventional head of cattle (on the same date last year, it was 7 centners of feed units).

Work is underway in the flax fields. Northern silk has been pulled on 1.4 thousand hectares (12.5%).
